안드레아 보첼리는 이탈리아의 테너이자 팝페라가수이다.
1994년 산레모 가요제의 신인상을 받은 이래, 보첼리는 팝과 클래식, 8개의 오페라 음악을 포함한 13개의 솔로 스튜디오 앨범을 녹음하여 세계적으로 7천만 장 이상의 음반을 팔았다. 1998년 잡지 《피플》에 '가장 아름다운 사람들 50명'중의 하나로 꼽혔다.
셀린 디옹과 듀엣으로 부른 "The Prayer"는 영화 《캐멀럿의 탐구 대상》의 주제가로 골든 글로브상의 최고 새가수 상을 수상하였고, 아카데미상에서도 같은 부분의 후보에 올랐다. 클래식 앨범 《Sacred Arias》는 미국 클래식 앨범 차트의 톱3에 들어오면서 기네스 세계 기록에 올랐다.
세계적으로 5백만 장이나 팔리면서, 그 앨범은 솔로 가수에 의한 최대 판매 앨범이 되었다. 또한 전 세계에서 2천만 장 이하로 팔린 1997년 팝 앨범 《Romanza》는 이탈리아 가수에 의한 최대 판매 앨범이 되었으며, 캐나다, 유럽과 라틴아메리카의 다른 나라들에서도 최대 판매 앨범으로 알려졌다. 앨범의 첫 싱글 "Time to Say Goodbye"는 독일을 포함한 유럽 전역에서 차트 1위를 차지하여, 이탈리아 국내에서 3백만 장, 세계적으로 12백만 장이나 팔리면서 판매 기록을 깼다.
