작곡가 겸 피아니스트 이루마가 데뷔 20주년을 맞이한 2021년 발맨한 싱글 'Cuore Indigo'(쿠오레 인디고)은 이번 싱글은 이루마가 세계적인 소프라노 조수미에게 제안하며 성사된 프로젝트로 오래전부터 조수미와의 콜라보를 계획해 오다 이번 그의 20주년을 마무리하는 기념으로 제작하게 되었다.
이루마의 20주년을 기념한 오케스트라 앨범 'The Rewritten Momories' 그리고 피아노 솔로 앨범 'SOLO'에 이어 그동안 사랑받았던 그의 대표적인 작품 'Indigo'를 소프라노와 오케스트라로 재해석한 'Cuore Indigo'는 '밤하늘의 마음'이라는 뜻으로 기존 'Indigo'가 단순히 밤하늘을 표현한 작품이었다면 이번 'Cuore Indigo'는 '편히 기댈 수 있는 곳, 아픔 없는 밤하늘을 날아 오른다'라는 희망적이면서도 누군가를 위로해 주는 듯한 시적인 가사로 듣는 이들의 마음을 달래 주는 듯 하다.
