켄터키 옛집(My Old Kentucky Home)는 미국의 켄터키주의 주가(州歌)로 1928년 3월 19일 켄터키 주의회에서 제정하였다. 원곡은 1853년 스티븐 포스터가 발표한 곡이다.  《올드 블랙 조》 《스와니강》 등과 더불어 그의 대표작 가운데 하나로 지금도 널리 애창되고 있다.

 

그러나 언제 만들어졌는지 정확치 않다. ＜주인은 차디 찬 땅 속에＞와 마찬가지로 켄터키주의 로완 판사 저택에서의 추억에 의해 만들어졌다고 일반적으로 믿어지고 있지만, 이 점의 관련도 확실한 증거는 없는 것 같다. 또 한가지, 그 무렵(1951년경), 『국민시대』라는 신문에 연재되어 크게 논란되고 있던 해리오트 스토우 부인의, 노예의 비참한 운명을 그린 소설 『엉클 톰의 오두막집』을 포스터가 읽고, 이 노래를 썼다고 하는 설도 있지만, 그 진위는 알 수가 없다. 어쨌든, 로완가(家)의 저택은 1922년이래 켄터키 주가 관리하며, 「Kentucky Home」이라 불리는 포스터 기념 박물관이 되고 있다.

원곡은 노예 농장에서 일하는 노예들의 삶을 묘사한 것이다. 노예제 폐지론자인 프레드릭 더글라스는 이 노래가 노예를 동정적 시각으로 그렸다고 믿고 있다, 1986년 켄터키 주의회는 원 가사의 "흑인"(darkies)란 표현이 좋지 않다고 보고 "사람"(people)로 개사하였다.

The corn top's ripe and the meadow's in the bloom,
