1970년대 디스코 음악이 세계적으로 유행을 하였는데 비지스는 기존의 소프트한 팝음악 위주로 활동하가 디스코음악으로 음악적 변화를 시도 하면서 흑인 음악이었던 디스코 음악의 열풍의 주역, 전성기를 열었다고 할 수 있습니다.

 

1977년 영화 <토요일밤의 열기(Saturday Night Fever)>의 사운드트랙에 참여하면서 메가 히트를 기록합니다. <Stayin' Alive>와 <How Deep Is Your Love>, <Night Fever> 등이 수록된 이 앨범은 당시 2800만 장이 팔리는 공전의 히트를 기록했습니다.
