1990년대 최고의 보컬 밴드인 보이즈 투 멘은 1980년대를 풍미한 선배 흑인 보컬 밴드 뉴 에디션 못지 않은 빼어난 보컬 하모니를 연출해 보였고, 상업적으로는 그들을 훨씬 뛰어넘는 엄청난 성공을 거둬들이며 1990년대 초반 4인조 남성 R&B 보컬 밴드 붐을 일으키게 한 팀이다. 뛰어난 하모니를 주무기로 달콤한 발라드에서 그루브감 넘치는 곡들에 이르기까지 수많은 히트 레퍼토리를 남겼다.
End of the Road는 보이즈 투 멘(Boyz II Men)이 1992년 발표한 곡으로 13주간 미국 차트 1위를 차지해 36년간 이 부문의 왕좌를 굳건히 지키던 엘비스 프레슬리(Elvis Presley)의 Hound Dog / Don't Be Cruel의 11주 기록을 깼다. 하지만 얼마 후 휘트니 휴스턴(Whitney Houston)의 I Will Always Love You로 인해 아주 짧게 그 영광을 누렸다가 1995년 다시 I'll Make Love To You로 휘트니와 동률을 이루며 정상에 올랐다.
보이즈 투 멘이 나오기 전까지 1위에 오래 머문 기준의 모타운 최대 히트 곡은 라이오넬 리치(Lionel Richie)와 다이애나 로스(Diana Ross)의 Endless Love였다. End Of The Road는 빌보드 연말 결산 1위, 90년대 결산 6위를 차지했고 그래미 최우수 R&B 그룹 퍼포먼스, 최우수 R&B 곡 부문을 수상했다.
이 곡은 레지날드 후들린(Reginald Houdnin) 감독의 영화 <부메랑(Boomeraing)>에 수록된 곡이고 1993년 재발매된 <Cooleyhighharmony> 디럭스 판에도 포함되었다.
